  6. Oh, Kary! It's so good to hear from you:). Thank you for stopping by. So many comments on this post! I love all of your cookbooks- completely worn with use and love- so wonderful! Great photo of Dande's ears sticking out of the basket. I wish I could curl up in that basket- it's cold & rainy here in New England today:). Looks like the perfect place for a catnap:). I like the CD player- we still have one in our basement that I just can't bring myself to get rid of. All of our CDs are on our iPod, but I keep thinking that one day, we may need them.....oh, nostalgia, I guess:). I have that same issue of Cottage Style at home. I flip through it quite frequently:). And your Mem day menu sounds delicious!! Wish I lived closer so that I could try a BBQ burger. Yum!! Happy Spring to you & your sweet family!!

    xoxo,
    Blair

  24. I love seeing your cookbooks. I had a giveaway once and to enter everyone sent in photos of their cookbooks. Isn't there something sweet and warm about seeing our 'kitchen friends' that are always there when we need them? I have Silver Palate too and have picked up copies for my daughter and daughter-in-law at thrift shops...Enjoyed your post!

  29. I love those Silver Palate cookbooks. Mine are a wreck from so much use over the years, kind of like your Julia Child book.

Looks like plans are well underway for your Memorial Day. You always know how to do the holidays, all holidays, up in a wonderful way. I look forward to seeing more pictures of your festivities.

  32. Clyde has taken to laying in a basket next to my desk. I bought it about a month ago, set it there on the adjacent desk. He was in it before I knew it. Unless he's eating or making a quick run outside, he's in that basket!

  33. So glad you stopped by my red farmhouse.
Is that your farmhouse in the lovely photo above? Looks like we have similar likes: cooking, crocheting, and that Country Style Magazine is in my never throw away mag pile.
And one more thing, that is a beautiful dog you have there.

  39. I had about 200 cookbooks, but the fire took a lot of them. I still have the burned remains of many, boxed up and stored in the shed. I didn't have the heart to pitch them. It's sad to get so attached to books, but I do.
