See what I got? I have to tell you that when I started this blog back in July of 2009 I had NO IDEA what was in store. The numerous friendships that I would make.Bloggers who have become special friends to me. It's a journey I could have never imagined.I saw in a magazine somewhere where a non-blogger asked a blogger why she blogged. She said she just smiled and thought...it's too bad you don't. I thought that really sums it up. This SPECIAL DELIVERY box came in the mail yesterday. What a SURPRISE. It was from Octoberfarm.A BLOGGING BUDDY who has become a dear friend. These are all things that she collected on her trip this Fall. All the things that I love. What a kind and thoughtful thing to do.Thinking about us and sending that SPECIAL package all the way to the west coast. THANK YOU, my friend. Your thoughtfulness is so appreciated. We LOVE it !!! And our friendship....with you.

Wow you really did receive some really nice gifts.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what your saying about your friends out here in this strange but wonderful world of blogging. I too never even thought I would have one reader and now I am so blessed with a lot of new lovely friends.
Makes me feel kind of sorry for the ones that don't blog. lol
I am having a CSN giveaway that ends Sunday night so if you have not entered be sure and but your name in the hat.
Hope your weekend is great
Love
Maggie
awww shucks....you are welcome!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean. I got a huge box of goodies from Brazil and a book from the UK for my birthday last month.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your treats!
Blogger friendships are very special. Diane
ReplyDeleteFollowed you from Wild Magnolia - Love your blog. Reminds me of my old farm house I lived in a dozen years go.
ReplyDeleteFollowed you from Wild Magnolia - so pleased with what I read.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of my old farmhome that I left a dozen years ago.
Blog land is a special place, and it's real. Such lovely gifts for a special person. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Joyce the most special person. I won one of her baskets back in October and it was stuffed full of good things. If you never make anything else from her blog PLEASE make the No Knead Rosemary Bread and the Uber Cake. I have lost count of the number of loaves of bread and the first Uber Cake is gone and I'm making one for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and any other other holiday I can think of, Wednesdays are holidays. right.
ReplyDeleteBlogging friends are amazing and they are true friends. I do believe that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely gift from your friend.
xo

ReplyDeleteI'm so thrilled I found blogging. There is nothing like getting a package in the mail. Of course Stonewall Kitchen has the best jam ever. The honey looks yummy too,and has the bonus of being good for you. Have you ever put a peep in the microwave. I won't tell you what happens, you can find that out yourself. Have a wonderful weekend Kary!!!
ReplyDeletewhat wonderful thoughtful gifts, you're blessed Kary!
ReplyDeleteBlogging is THE best! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful assortment of goodies!
How sweet of your blogging friend to send you that package! I'm very fortunate to be able to visit Stonewall Kitchen's "flagship" store, it's an hours drive from my MA home. And I'm a frequent flyer on our weekend trips to Maine! I have the same cookbook! What did you think of those recipe cards - I love them! Blogging is the best. My good friend really introduced me to blogging and then convinced me to create a blog and then I convinced her to create a blog - and the rest is history! We have a blast discussing our common blogs and seeking out new ones! Have a great weekend my dear blog friend - and hug that little Teddy for me!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean and share your sentiments about blogging as well.;)
ReplyDeleteWhat beuatiful gifts indeed, enjoy it all.;)Have a lovely weekend as well,
xoxo
Ah yes, blogging! Writing is essential (and always has been) to my mental well-being, and blogging seems to be the literary genre fitting me best; I lack the stamina for a novel and the possibility to do thorough research for a non-fiction book. So, blogging it is for me!
ReplyDeleteThe lovely people I have met along the way and hopefully will continue to meet are an added bonus :-)
How nice! Blogging is such fun and what did I do before I became a blogger?
ReplyDeletehi there,
ReplyDeletehow fun a box of treats! i totally agree, blogging is just a great thing. i have met some really nice people, too!
thanks for the pilgrim cocktail, oooh, will have to serve those! so fun. i hope you are enjoying your weekend, out there in beautiful CA!!!!
xx
I'm at a loss sometimes at the warm, thoughtful gestures I receive from blogging friends I've never met in person -- but whom I know so much about.
ReplyDeleteHow kind it was for your friend to send this lovely package to you.
Brilliant ideas I've never thought of:
ReplyDelete-Apple Pie with CINNAMON ice cream (ideal!)
-Nutmeg in cranberry sauce
Your turkey recipe sounds divine...
And this little package of treasures is the sweetest thing I've seen all week! What a great friend! Blogging is certainly a unique and surprising community. Cherishable, indeed.
How sweet is your package...holiday peeps?..they will make peeps into anything now!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
Thank you for your comment concerning my teeth...I do think drugs are the way to go.
Hugs for a great weekend. xoxoxo
What a wonderful package, all the things to remind you of the east coast.

Did you get the predicted rain? We received some, but todays clearing winds blew most of the clouds away and also scared the pants of owen! poor baby!
xoxo
lori
you are such a treasure!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely package, kary!! I have that blueberry book too! Blogging is such a joy, I agree...surprises all the time, from wonderful cards & e-mails to uplifting comments from like-minded people. I feel very honoured to count you among my friends & Teddy too!! Alice is a lucky girl to have found such a handsome pal! Have a wonderful week xoxo Rachel
ReplyDeleteJoyce is one very special lady, isn't she? But you are also a very special lady, deserving of every thoughtful gesture and moment that comes your way.
ReplyDeleteTreats are also sweeter and more luscious when they are given to us by those who care. And even more so, when they are a surprise!
The thought behind them means as much as the goodies themselves, and while the food will eventually disappear, this moment will stay with you forever. I know that you will savor it.
Hi Kari!
ReplyDeleteI'm baking your cranberry walnut shortbread cookies this afternoon. They absolutely melt in your mouth. Gonna have to make another batch tomorrow!!
Thanks, my friend. xx
Now that's a sweet surprise, you received some lovely treasures!

Truly an awesome gift of kindness....
ReplyDeleteisn't that the truth. if it weren't for blogging, i wouldn't have found you.

Hi Kary!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great thing for your blog friend to do for you. There are so many nice people out here with giving hearts just willing to pass on the good!
I am here to wish you a super duper happy Thanksgiving, well... for you and for Teddy too!
It's been wonderful getting to know you this year, who would've known just a little comment about Los Gatos would have us sharing stories about apples, dogs and enjoyment of life, in general?!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
xoxo~Tracie & Zeke (and the cats too ;)
What a wonderful surprise, such a lovingly put together collection of favorite things.
