Do Pets Go To Heaven ?

Christianity holds that every living being, from the tinest insect to the largest whale, will enter Heaven.

  1. I have no doubts they do. I just hope it's the same heaven...

  2. I firmly believe that our pets go to Heaven. We lost our dog, Molly, five years ago and I've always felt she was there just waiting for the rest of us. It makes me smile to think of being greeted in Heaven by a big sloppy dog kiss!

  4. Hi I like to read your lovely blog! Yours is a favourite of mine! It is my firm belief that all the animals we ever loved we will see one fine day. God knows the Love we have for our pets and as The Lord is so wonderful and loving I see Him as having them waiting for us. The ones who were strays and never loved? I believe in His Infinite Love that He has a place of Love included for them too. What wonderous thoughts you had today about them lol. Those are some lovely verses that youve mentioned..

  6. Teddy looks adorable, he will take the pain away. Have you noticed the dogwoods? They are flowering so profusely right now, in a blaze of beauty, next time you see one, think of Buddy for he will be sending you a kiss (lick, lick!)

  7. Dearest Kary, All I can tell you is that I have no wish to be in a heaven where beloved animals are not. And if innocent creatures, who give unconditional love do not deserve to be there...then who among us does? I know in my heart that when I reach the edge of the forest, the little ones will be there to meet me and see me safely through the shadows.
Less than a week to go!

  8. Yes yes yes.
Can you imagine a place with no dogs or cats or birds? What a lonely place with no purring, birdsong or even barking. Be aware of a heaven with no pets allowed.........

  9. when we lost our beloved golden retriever,
my mother in law, who was my junior high
sunday school teacher, said, "honey, it says
right here in His word that 'the lion will lay
    with the lamb.' " :)

  11. heaven isn't a place. it is what is inside every being. we don't understand it but animals do!

  12. Of course ! Pets don't GO to heaven, dear Kary ... They RETURN to heaven :) I always believed that they're angels God allows to live among us for a time to give us love and teach us some compassion and true friendship, as well.

We're lucky for having such friends by our side ;)

Kisses for you and Teddy ... and Buddy in heaven :)

Someday all of us will be there, too. Laughing and playing :D :D :D

  13. Yes pets go to heaven. I hope to see my sweet Collies Lucy and Chloe once again. I hope to meet all the other critters that enriched my life as well.

  14. even earl needs to be loved and i think lil' teddy is the one for the job. i think animals are so much smarter than humans. humans are egotistical and don't think out of the box. animals are so selfless and wise.

  17. If humans do, then pets MUST because they are certainly more deserving of heaven than we mortals!

  18. I have a slightly different concept of Heaven, believing that our beloved furry friends who have already Travelled On, are with us right now, only we can't see them. If you are aware, they have little ways of letting us know that they are there. .you just have to be open to the possibility.
And one day, when we Travel On to that other dimension, then we will be reunited with all who have touched our heart.
As for the strays, ferals and wild animals, every time I see one whose life has ended tragically, I give them a little blessing filled with love, for a speedy journey. At that moment, I feel an attachment. Besides all of the kitties, dogs, buns, and other assorted furred and feathered friends that have shared my home, when I leave this plane, I'm going to be met with a herd of critters, and that will make me over the moon happy!

  19. Yes oh yes oh yes they do!! They are there to be with us! All Gods creatures!

  20. Thank you for posting on my blog today! I loved your post and what a sweet friend you have made. It's certainly going to be a hard choice to decide who wins the painting! I do believe pets go to Heaven!
    Oh, I love your blog!!!

  21. St. Francis of Assisi believed all creatures are equal, brothers and sisters, deserving of God's blessings.

  22. i think that in a sense every living thing transcends to a different plane, but I also think that they can "walk" with us through this life, even when they aren't physically here. However it is still hard to say goodbye or let go, I have a really hard time with that even though I know they are never really gone.

(p.s. I wish i was able to stay in maine a little while, I am just going, dropping off and driving back home-alone... booo!)

  23. What's your Bible verse to back up the premise "Christianity holds that every living being, from the tinest insect to the largest whale, will enter Heaven.?"
I believe my animals are going to heaven. In Peter it says, "cast your cares upon Him for He careth for you" and I care my animals are going to heaven.

  24. Yes I know that someday I'll be with my first love "FREDO" he is waiting for me in heaven-it just would not be heaven without dogs. I KNOW it.

  25. Yes my friend. Buddy is there, have no doubt.

Chuck and Owen came home today from their three day camping trip this afternoon. Chuck came straight to my work so i could see them. I was so happy I welled up with tears. I never knew how fast you could fall in love with a little ball of fur. I can't wait for Teddy to come home to you.

    love,
    lori

  26. I firmly believe that we meet w/our beloved pets in time. I also think that if you are 'open' to small messages, our loved ones (people and pets)can still be around at times. I know I have felt it w/Leo within the past year.

  27. What would heaven be with no animals?

I too, believe that pets and animals go to heaven.

    have a good sunday

  28. Yes I think pets go to heaven. I think the pets we`ve lost is waiting for us there. I have to believe that because I lost my horse some years ago - I miss her every day.

  29. And as Will Rogers said: "If dogs don't go to heaven, then I wanna go where THEY are."

  30. There is absolutely no question in my mind but that all creatures go back to spirit from which we all came. We are all ONE. We are spirit and that includes all living things. Heaven is that pure perfection in spirit where nothing can come between us and our joy. That's my opinion

  31. perhaps all sentient beings earn their own special place. it just is possible.

    one love.

  32. hang in there! picking up lil' teddy makes buddies demise even more real. this is just the way it happens. you have to ride the waves of emotions. teddy will be there soon to help you out of the black hole. everything you are feeling is normal!

  33. Well, I believe that a loving God would want heaven to be filled with the animals that have been important in our lives, who have made the way easier for us and, also, who have have given their lives for us, in whatever fashion. Therefore, I believe that heaven will be a place where the animals will also be.

  35. Of course, one religion believes that the dog is the animal that leads us from one life into the next, now that is a lovely thought.

  36. i did a lot of reading about pets and heaven when I lost Winston. I found it enormously comforting. I do think our pets are angels here on earth. They are selfless and loving. I know I will see all my beloved pets again someday.

  40. I didn´t know that, interesting!

  41. Absolutely! I think that our pets are a part of heaven when they are alive and after they pass on. I also believe that their energy is still accessible to us and all around us. You'll feel your Buddy with you just like I feel our Moe and Puna with us at times. I cannot wait for your little Teddy to come live with you!! Love, Silke

  42. i love this. and yes, i do believe that all animals would end up in heaven :)

  43. The next time youre in a larger book store, look up a book called, Dog Heaven. You will have no doubt that animals end up in Heaven...but grab some tissues, its a 'jerker.'

  44. Actaully, I thought it was taught that animals don't have spirits so do not enter heaven. At least that is always how I heard it but then I thought of the 4 horsemen of the apolocalypse or the horses with carriage that come and whisk up Elijah...so if horse, why not dogs, cats, and so on?
