this is my scarecrow in my dried out corn patch... all my corn and sunflowers are about gone...but i can't let them go...i love to hear them rustling in the late afternoon wind...i have had the scarecrow for years and just can't bear to part with him even though he is looking kind of worn out...

our apples are already starting to come in...
so i knew i had to make an APPLE PIE....
imade a quick crust...

The Mister is all set for Preseason football. I actually have class tonight & tomorrow day. Programming in the summer on a weekend, really what was I thinking? I should have my head examined!
Kary, I smell autumns in the air! Everything looks deelish. Tonight the Redskins pre-season game on TV, pie sounds wonderful w/a dollop of ice cream. Hello, Mrs. Smith!! Chuckle.
Thank you for popping by. You are very appreciated. Would you share my post with your followers to come over, please.
Your pie looks fabulous, I'm still in the peach mode, but haven't been baking any pies-I'm terrible with crust. Enjoy the game, it is movie night at our house. Give Teddy a hug.
Delicious looking apple pie. The smell must have been amazing. I have never made a lattice crust but Mary makes them all the time. I think I am going to have her over to give me some help with my crust. The Patriots had there pre-season game too. Where has summer gone? I have to go back to work on Sept.1st. Have a great weekend Kary!!
Hi there Kary & Teddy, Loved seeing your scarecrow; fall is in the air here too but I don't want an early winter. Loved seeing your pie from start to oven-yummm. Have a wonderful weekend and give Teddy some love from us. Hugs, Noreen & Reggie
Kary, there is a chill to the air this evening, warm apple pie accompanied with vanilla ice cream would fit the bill quite nicely. How very pretty your crust is. I am looking forward to the beauty that only fall can bring, Hugs to you and Teddy, Julie,
Hi Kary and Teddy I thing your old scarecrow is too sweet to scare away any crows! He is definitely a keeper And am I ready for football? Never, ever, ever! Your fresh baked apple pie-you bet!
They looks so good. I have to admit that I am jealous. I think my 5 apple trees have produced a whole 5 apples. Guess I'll have to buy them. The pie looks so yummy!
You make the most delicious looking pies and the prettiest pie crusts! I love the way you flute the bottom crust! Your lattice looks beautiful! What pie crust recipe do you use?
No RSVP required, and you and Teddy are welcome any time! The cottage needs lots of work on the inside, it's old, but clean!
Oh please save some for me my dear! My apple tree is bearing so much fruit this year and the birds have yet to get to them, so I better hurry and pick some =) Have a great weekend! Xoxoxo
That scarecrow is looking pretty cute to me. In fact, all of your images are making me dream of Fall, a season we don't get on this side of the world. It's 113 out right now and won't really cool off until later in the year, maybe December, if we are lucky. Winter has been pretty mild for the past couple of years. That apple pie looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good! Hope your weekend is great. Tammy
Kary, your pictures and your love of the seasons and all things homey make me happy. I wish sometimes I could just crawl into your pictures and stay. Love the apple pie and the scarecrow.
Yes, we are making a cake for our first Giants game tonight! yay, i love football season. Your blog makes me happy today because it's putting me in the fall mood....my favorite season! xo
The scarecrow looks like the one my brother was afraid of when he was a child. I'm not a big fan of apple pies, but this one looks delicious! I love when apples get ripe and ready to pick.
oh yummy kary, you are my favorite baker by far, how simple you make it sound and look. you always inspire me! (no, i've not tried the pizza yet, and now i have to make a pie too!)
Oh, that looks delicious! I'm still out of country so no pre-football for me tonight. Just making sure I'm packed and ready to fly back to the states tomorrow.
That looks wonderful. We make a very different applepie here in The Netherlands. We use a sweet pie dough and combine apples with sugar and raisins, sometimes this mixture is cooked first using butter and brown sugar. It's so nice to see all kinds of apple pies. Do you have a recipe for yours ??? Have a wonderful day.
the night will never stay, the night will still go by, though with a million stars you pin it to the sky; though you bind it with the blowing wind, and buckle it with the moon, the night will slip away like sorrow or a tune.
oh yummy!
