today at Farmhouse Kitchen we are feeling fresh and Spring-ey... i made a macaroni salad to go with our bbq tonight and as i was making it i thought this is really a Springtime macaroni salad...i used fresh dill from my garden, red radishes, sweet pickle, and homemade green brined olives ....a gift from a friend...but the fresh dill is what made it...

When you wrote "dill" you got my undivided attention. I love dill, and it doesn't love my garden :(
ReplyDeleteBut I buy good quality dried dill and this recipe sounds scrumptious.
what a spring time picture the first is,with the little pansy as a decoration-i love it. Green olives are my favorite, the salad sounds delicious.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, I love dill, and macaroni, green olives, radishes, sweet relish! Can you tell that I like your Spring-ey Picnic Salad? Is that chicken bbq? Can you tell it's time for dinner? LOL! Enjoy your dinner, it sounds wonderful!

Yum!!! I have given up gluten (well mostly) BUT I have found wonderful gluten free pasta. Only downside is cost! But I am only feeding me so it works! I will try this!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Lisa

ReplyDeleteOh good idea...I've got cranberry beans and ham in the kettle and a pork roast for bbq in the oven; mac salad would be perfect and am planning on having corn bread as well. Daniel and David are coming to move refrigerators tonight and I like to feed them well for their efforts. And, yes, I pay them too -smile-.
ReplyDeleteWhich post has your hot cross bun recipe? They look delicious!
Oh my gosh a bbq! Yes Please. The macaroni salad sounds great - I wish it would stop raining in Portland, so I could follow your lead.
ReplyDeleteThis is a keeper recipe. It is filled with spring goodness and I will prepare this soon. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove to you and Sweet Boy Teddy!
Wishing you a most wonderful day.
The flavour of dill always says 'spring' to me! Lovely to visit your blog.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had macaroni salad in such a long time! I've never added dill, but I can imagine how good it would be. It looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of you the other day when my husband and I were sorting through piles of used books at a local thrift store. There were some vintage cookbooks and I was hoping to get lucky and find a copy of the Price's cookbook (I've forgotten the name of it). No such luck, but I did buy a great book on cooking with wine and one with recipes in menu format. I paid 25 cents each!
It sounds perfect! Few things taste better to me than fresh herbs, and dill is among my favorites. Those olives sound pretty wonderful, too! xo
ReplyDeleteYour salad makes me want to be outside in warm weather. I love that you put olives in it - as I do. I toss a little red wine vinegar and olive oil with the cooked macaroni while chopping and adding the other ingredients - then finish off with a light toss of mayo. Love your blogging!
ReplyDeleteit looks delicious. i always over look dill and will
ReplyDeletenow look for a way to incorporate it more!
