it is so COLD here in San Luis Obispo that it is SNOWING !!! Well, it is up in the mountains...not downtown...this is actually Figueroia Mountain Road on the way to Santa Barbara. The road that Michael Jackson's Neverland is on. We have had a fire simmering away in the Farmhouse Kitchen woodstove all day today and Bolognese sauce bubbling slowly on the farm stove. Hope it's cozy at your house.

Yay, you finally got some of our New England cold weather. Pasta and a rich meat sauce is just the ticket on a cold Sunday night. We are having chili and corn bread for supper and then my daughter who came home from school ( she goes to college way up in the mountains of New Hampshire) will leave to go back. We use to drive her back, but because she is a junior now we let her take her car back. We thought we would see her more often but she loves her college life up there. Oh well, miss her already. Enjoy your cold weather and make sure Teddy wears a coat!!
ReplyDeleteOh so sorry but you will be back in the 80's soon. us we are waiting for one more snow storm tomorrow. and it is cold so enjoy your taste of New England
ReplyDeleteCathy
That is an all too familiar scene for me this winter and one I'm wishing will go away! LOL!!! Now about that sauce, sounds delicious, what's time's dinner? I'll bring the salad! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteMary & Duke
That sounds wonderful; I have bolognese sauce simmering on the stove too!

Sounds lovely! So happy to see that you got some snow:).
ReplyDeletexoxo,

I know what you mean about the weather! It has been so odd here: high winds, pelting rain, snow, etc. Today, the snow is finally starting to melt and I can actually see some blue skies between the billowy clouds. I say: beware eastern US...it is headed YOUR way!
ReplyDeleteWe are actually having nice weather for a change. Even went for a hike with my son and didn't freeze! Glad you are staying warm. We have a fire in our stove as well.
ReplyDeletestrange news coming from your end Kary! Well, your bolognese sauce sounds like just the thing!
ReplyDeleteHehe, ironically enough, up in the Northeast it's been quite warm up until recently! I'm missing it already! ♥
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to see alittle snow? That is how I feel about the first snow. However, since we've had countless snowstorms, I'm ready to see my tulips singing away in the breeze.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know you're cozy; that is the best way to be!
Wow! We have some friends that live in Pismo Beach and they were really razzing us about how warm it was there this past week. We stayed in San Luis Obispo when we went to see Hearst Castle. We loved staying there it was so beautiful! I think that they told us that there was kind of like a farmers market that would set up on the sidewalks of downtown in the late afternoon and early evening. We loved the downtown area. Such cute shops.
ReplyDeleteOur Mt Diablo has snow upon it as well...so lovely to look out our windows to see. It is cold and I would rather some warmth from the sun but the sky has been so lovely that I will put up with the chill. Still, the birds are singing up a storm because the storm has passed and that is our Sunday in northern CA.
ReplyDeleteDear Kary & Teddy Sweet Boy,
ReplyDeleteYa'll have had unseasonable heat and now the snow.
Whereas you have Bolognese sauce, we have Chili simmering. Here it is in the 80's but not very humid.
We went to visit friends who RV travel, talked travel trailer homes, and traveling the USA, Canada and Alaska.
I've been busy going through my things for a garage sale and helping with house repairs for the house sale. So, not much posting and I miss it. I have tried to keep up with my friends.
Also...shopping for a travel trailer.
and btw....I am happing and doing well.
Still missing my baby girl....
sending love and a ((hug)), magnolia
It was cold, but crisp here today and the sky was magnificent blue. Despite the cold -- and last night's bitter wind and the snow predicted for tomorrow -- I really think spring will be here in a blink. Keep cozy!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! You got snow??? Is this weather not crazy? We were at 70 degrees today. Enjoy your Bolognese sauce and keep yourself and sweet Teddy warm and cozy.
ReplyDeleteI bet it smelled heavenly at the homestead today, then. Yum.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a week of warm weather (up to 70s) but it's supposed to snow this week. Bolognese sounds like a great idea!
ReplyDeleteWow, Kary ..it sounds unusually cold there! We are expecting a little snow tomorrow, but that is normal for February in NY! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful. I bet you enjoyed that cozy kitchen today. Have you ever seen the Neverland RAnch? I’ve always wanted to see it in person :)
ReplyDeleteWow! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou must be in heaven!
ReplyDeletethat's so freaky... snow in California!... wow! bet Teddy loved playing in the snow... our Holly loves it, she's like a child again when she sees it... woo hoo!

It does look like New England! It looks just like the scene outside my window in fact. Here's hoping Spring is just around the corner (I see you have already had some Spring!!)
ReplyDeletebest,
joan
I knew how much you wanted a break from the heat so I sent you some snow and cold from Michigan! Now you have to send some sun and warmer temps from California!
ReplyDeleteThe snow had finally stared to melt around here and then we got a winter storm last night. It dropped about 8 inches of snow. Sigh.
Ah, you finally got your cold! You must slow cook something yummy. Dark and rainy old day here in Ohio. Actually, quite cozy and romantic.
ReplyDeleteI was in Los Gatos and it snowed there also, it was beautiful watching the big flakes gently fall from the sky. Fortunately I did not have to drive in it!
ReplyDeleteChangeable weather - thought that you might have something nice cooking, Kary. I'll bet that the sun will shining again soon. Lesley x
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love Winter? :)
ReplyDeleteI do.
Congrats on the snow and the warm fire.
Melinda
Hey, Kary and Teddy, we are closer to New England, but I'll give you a break this time! Pasta is always good on a frosty day! A pat for my boy, Teddy and love to you. Nancy
ReplyDeletehope you're safe and warm and cozy.
ReplyDeletehere it's hot - 80 degrees
my brain is fried...i hope my comment came through.
ReplyDeleteplease stay safe and warm!
I WAS SO EXCITED YOU WERE HERE IN MY NECK O' THE WOODS!!!
ReplyDeleteI am shopping a show right now, we could have hit all the thrift shops, stopped at a bistro for lunch, I know just the one, enjoyed a fresh salad and a yummy sandwich. Come back to my house and show Cheddar all our finds over a glass or two in front of the fireplace...oh well...until then, I'll just have to dream about it.... and your bolognese sauce~
Wow, it is pretty, though! We had our fireplace roaring last night. We're bracing for a winter storm tonight. Six inches of blowing and drifting snow prdeicted.
ReplyDeleteI was just in Santa Barbara on Sunday and it was quite lovely---about 10 degrees cooler than normal but sunny--it was great for the miles of walking we both did! Took the train back to Santa Ana but now we're home back in CO and it's snowing here---and I hear that this weekend will be a wet one for Southern CA as well----stay warm and enjoy the bit of snow!
ReplyDeleteI heard it was snowing there. Stay warm.. I'm thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteJoey
Coolish here. But at least the sun is out.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
My sis lives in Templeton and said snow was in the forecast... I'm hoping she gets a tiny bit and can take photos of it to share.

ReplyDeleteHi Kary!
ReplyDeleteSeems funny visiting your blog and seeing snow still when here it is still cold but there are definite signs of spring with the spring flowers coming out everywhere - well, saying that will bring back the snow here for sure won't it!!!!!!
Hope you and Teddy are both well - just love that photo of him on the birthday post - he's such a handsome fella!
Gill xx
It was so strange here: high winds, pelting rain, snow, etc. Today, the snow finally begins to medium & I can see some blue sky between billowy clouds.

Hi again Kary!
ReplyDeleteJust a quick stop by to say thanks for visiting and leaving a lovely comment - glad you havent got buried in the snow!
In answer to your question, Logan is a boy. My daughter's choice of name, and I think it confuses as maybe its used for either boy or girl!
Glad that you, Teddy and kitties are all doing well - lovely to hear from you!
Take Care!
