  1. I wonder what February will bring? My dogs are soaking up some warmth as I type right now...not 80 here, more like 67.

  2. I can't understand your weather breaking heatwave either. You are doing the only thing you can, running with it, bbq, preparing the garden. I wonder if "the real winter" is going to show up later.

"The Teddy" & Whiskey Sour...seem at peace with the heat.

I'm holding my own, some good days, others not so good.

    sending love, magnolia

  3. Oh Kary, it was so cold last night Bella was limping when she went outside. 12 below zero!!! Too cold for her paws. We tried several times and every time she would limp. I got two pairs of socks and put them on her but going the the back steps they fell off. Finally after two hours when she couldn't hold it she went. Brrrrr. Much better today. You are lucky to be in shorts especially when I'm wearing cotton socks to bed.

  22. Hi Kary,

OMG, the only time I'll see 80 is if I push my thermostat up! Wow, roto-tilling your garden! I'd have to use the snow blower to find mine! LOL!!! It was -17 yesterday morning when I looked at the thermometer!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time at your mom-in-laws. It sounded like a summer day! Don't you just love to see Teddy run? Our yard isn't fenced in, but we take Duke to Ron's cousin's in Acton, Ma and he runs like the wind - I love watching him!

Poor little guy, it's so cold he's dancing on his paws this past week. Then today he got a hair cut at Pampered Paws! He looks beautiful and he knows it! LOL!!!

Your Teddy looks gorgeous in that photo! Such a beautiful boy! Whiskey Sour is also beautiful, love that name! Duke does the same thing, especially in the winter, it's so funny!

Well, those brownies sound delicious! Can't wait to "taste" them! Have a wonderful day!

Mary & Dukeums! (I have a zillion names for him)

  26. Hi Kary - 80 degrees, how wonderful! We're flying 5 hours to get to 80 degrees next week! Teddy looks like a little stuffed animal he's so perfect looking! We have our gardening catalogs out and I have my sketchpad ready in the sunroom - hoping to plan some cottage gardens for the front of the house around the new rock walls. Enjoy that weather and those delicious sounding BBQ dinners! Ciao, bella!

  28. I am still loving the snow, we are in a white out right now...not happy about that because I need to run all over the tristate area this week to get props but what can you do? I still love it!

Running out to the store right now to grab groceries and maybe a gardening book...
    Sending you a snowball!

  41. Wow, that is really warm weather you are having!

  42. Not anywhere near eighty here in my part of California, all fog and gray skies, but still nice enough for me to put on the lined gardening gloves I got for Christmas and do some tilling myself today.

  43. You lucky woman! I'm freezing! Great photographs!

I can't believe you're putting Spring Sheets... I don't think about it until April.

  45. That is the cutest roto-tiller I have ever seen! My husband uses one that is a behemouth and it takes muscles like Hercules has to use it--almost whips him around the garden and shakes him to death! Of course, he won't be using that puppy til mid-May!

  46. Thanks for the rays of sunshine. I am in Michigan...just digging out from the big blizzard. It is very pretty, though!

  47. Unbelievable weather! Enjoy! Love the picture of Teddy and Whiskey Sour hanging out together - we have a new apricot poodle pup coming this weekend and we are so excited!!! A bit worried as to how our cat Bessie will take to the new pup though - any tips?

  48. Good morning! What a wonderful happy warm feeling post you have this morning! Love it! We have very cold temps here in Michigan, plowing for two days now from a blizzard. But, sun is going to shine this morning and that makes everything alright. Have a great day!

  49. Sigh...that sounds wonderful, I can almost smell the eucalyptus of my childhood.

I grew up in Palos Verdes, Ca (moved to Portland, Or when I was 8 years old)& every year around this time I feel the need to go back & visit.

We are certainly not having the snow like the rest of the country in Portland, but I could use some California right about now. Thanks for giving me a little taste.

  50. I'm w/Dog Trot Farm... Woodstove n soup, critters snuggled... But you warmed me right up. I had a delightfully sunny visit. THANKS!

  51. You are one lucky lady! I would love to just see some green grass and dirt right now instead of all the snow banks. Your dogs are so adorable!!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. whoa. now, are you sure you don't really live in Colorado? it does that too here. Extremes in a space of one day. enjoy.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I am SO jealous of your 80 degrees and sunshine days! Told my hubby today that I could consider moving to FL after such a miserably cold, dreary winter! Teddy is looking quite dapper! Have a lovely week, Kary!

    ReplyDelete
  54. sounds like you have a little bit of Aussie weather happening there we are sitting on high 90's low 100's everyday at the moment so tired of the heat.

    ReplyDelete
  55. The weather has been crazy this year. Here in KS we had a record high the end of January and a record low the first week of February! Crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  56. We've been in the garden all week too! This weather is incredible! I love that shot of Teddy and Whiskey Sour! I think you had the right idea when you got a red poodle. Why on earth would I want a WHITE dog with all this RED dirt all around? I think I must have been in a coma or something. But, Rudy is a sweet dog and I wouldn't sent him back just because of his color. I love him just the same. (But red wouldn't show the dirt!!!)
