I wonder what February will bring? My dogs are soaking up some warmth as I type right now...not 80 here, more like 67.
ReplyDeletespring sheet????? OH my. lol.
ReplyDeleteI can't understand your weather breaking heatwave either. You are doing the only thing you can, running with it, bbq, preparing the garden. I wonder if "the real winter" is going to show up later.
ReplyDelete"The Teddy" & Whiskey Sour...seem at peace with the heat.
I'm holding my own, some good days, others not so good.
sending love, magnolia
Oh Kary, it was so cold last night Bella was limping when she went outside. 12 below zero!!! Too cold for her paws. We tried several times and every time she would limp. I got two pairs of socks and put them on her but going the the back steps they fell off. Finally after two hours when she couldn't hold it she went. Brrrrr. Much better today. You are lucky to be in shorts especially when I'm wearing cotton socks to bed.
ReplyDeleteHahaha those two are just so cute :) Xoxoxo
ReplyDeletesweet ... my goodness teddy is a teeny dog
ReplyDeleteWell they're calling for a foot of snow here tomorrow. They can keep calling as far as I'm concerned!
ReplyDeleteI'd much rather do winter your way. Do you live in Eden?
xo Jane

ReplyDeletexo.

oh wow....what a bummer! talk about the endless summer!
ReplyDeleteEverybody in blogland is talking sun. I soaked it up in the desert this weekend. Loved seeing the animals taking in their "soak"
ReplyDeleteAhh, how lovely it is to see a warm climate again! Here in New York, we've been on and off in the single digits, and having snow (lots of it)!
ReplyDeleteTeddy and Wiskey Sour are just adorable! I don't know what's going on w/the weather, but it sure is strange.
ReplyDeleteThe babies are so cute in the sunshine. Maybe we could do a house swap next winter since you like the snow so much and I hate it so much. ha ha
ReplyDeleteoh my G_ _ we are freezing! and I mean freezing.
ReplyDeletecathy
LOL! Well....we are expecting yet another 3 inches of snow here in KY. Really not our typical winter! Enjoy your temps. My daughter wanted to take off her coat outside today because it was 39 degrees....said she was hot.
ReplyDeleteKary~ lets compare notes shall we?... you rototilling/ me snow blowing.. You spring sheets/ me flannel sheets...you eighties/ me sub zero....you grilling on the patio/ me soup warming on the wood stove.... John shorts/ me long underwear.... Teddy basking in the sun/ Winslow Homer soaking in the heat from the wood stove, sometimes life just doesn't seem fair....from snowy Maine
ReplyDeleteit got close to the 60's last - today it's back in the 40s. brrrr but i would love to be in shorts
ReplyDeleteWell, you're in Cal. land of springtime and summer joy most of the time. What will you be planting?
ReplyDeleteWow, Kary, you are so lucky to be having such balmy weather to enjoy! We are getting more snow tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a darling picture! 80' ~ blah! lol
ReplyDeleteNo way...thats crazy! You are lucky my friend...just don't want it to get too hot for you....hugs. xoxo
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your warmth- it's cold here! No garden for me yet- c'mon spring!
ReplyDeleteHi Kary,
ReplyDeleteOMG, the only time I'll see 80 is if I push my thermostat up! Wow, roto-tilling your garden! I'd have to use the snow blower to find mine! LOL!!! It was -17 yesterday morning when I looked at the thermometer!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time at your mom-in-laws. It sounded like a summer day! Don't you just love to see Teddy run? Our yard isn't fenced in, but we take Duke to Ron's cousin's in Acton, Ma and he runs like the wind - I love watching him!
Poor little guy, it's so cold he's dancing on his paws this past week. Then today he got a hair cut at Pampered Paws! He looks beautiful and he knows it! LOL!!!
Your Teddy looks gorgeous in that photo! Such a beautiful boy! Whiskey Sour is also beautiful, love that name! Duke does the same thing, especially in the winter, it's so funny!
Well, those brownies sound delicious! Can't wait to "taste" them! Have a wonderful day!
Mary & Dukeums! (I have a zillion names for him)
It's a weird warm spell here in CA...that's for sure. I wonder what February will bring.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute pic of Teddy and Whiskey Sour!
I will be delighted when I think I am too hot!!! Diane
ReplyDeleteso not fair... do you want some of my cold and rain? ... more than happy to send it over to you!
ReplyDeleteHi Kary - 80 degrees, how wonderful! We're flying 5 hours to get to 80 degrees next week! Teddy looks like a little stuffed animal he's so perfect looking! We have our gardening catalogs out and I have my sketchpad ready in the sunroom - hoping to plan some cottage gardens for the front of the house around the new rock walls. Enjoy that weather and those delicious sounding BBQ dinners! Ciao, bella!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I can't believe the winter you are having. It is snowing here again. We have already passed our annual season "normal" amount.
ReplyDeleteI am still loving the snow, we are in a white out right now...not happy about that because I need to run all over the tristate area this week to get props but what can you do? I still love it!
ReplyDeleteRunning out to the store right now to grab groceries and maybe a gardening book...
Sending you a snowball!

This is just wrong to be tortured by you and Teddy with the hot weather! Oh, that's right, but it's you and Teddy, so its OK! xxoo Nancy

ReplyDeletecan you believe this weather??!! ugh. i have just bought a ticket to nyc to see my girl, and experiance COLD. i am like you and would love to see the winter here, but it doesn't seem like it's coming.
teddy is just so adorable!
love from lori and owen
Oh the sight of overturned earth
ReplyDeletebless you for this uplifting look into Spring
You can send some of that warmth this way to Alabama! Its just plain cold and ugly here. Cold with no snow is ugly! We are getting ready to plant sweet peas in the garden though!! Happy Spring with summer temps to you! haha
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
We change from cold to spring weather every other day. Sounds fun but it just keeps us all sick. Crazy winter here in Texas.
ReplyDeletePlan B
Kary, oh my! we had a spring here two weeks ago and today - bloody freezing... I like both pictures and yes two weeks ago I did put the spring sheets as well!!! had to change it today back to the flannel ones ... :-) have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteOur garden just made a reappearance from the
ReplyDeleteblanket of snow that we had and just in time for more this week.
Can't believe you guys are in the 80's Wow!!
Have a great Sunday!
Melinda
Thanks for stopping by! If you want woodchuck, it's available on Craig's List. I'm here to help!!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Oh my, enjoy that beautiful sunshine and the shorts. I long for it. The doggies have the right idea. They all love to sun bathe don’t they?
ReplyDeleteWow, that is really warm weather you are having!
ReplyDeleteNot anywhere near eighty here in my part of California, all fog and gray skies, but still nice enough for me to put on the lined gardening gloves I got for Christmas and do some tilling myself today.
ReplyDeleteYou lucky woman! I'm freezing! Great photographs!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you're putting Spring Sheets... I don't think about it until April.
Love,
Joey and the girls
I'm so jealous! I'm lookin' at 3 ft of snow!
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest roto-tiller I have ever seen! My husband uses one that is a behemouth and it takes muscles like Hercules has to use it--almost whips him around the garden and shakes him to death! Of course, he won't be using that puppy til mid-May!
ReplyDeleteMy soul!
ReplyDeleteWhat planet are you living on??
Thanks for the rays of sunshine. I am in Michigan...just digging out from the big blizzard. It is very pretty, though!
ReplyDeleteThat Valentine puppy is too cute!
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable weather! Enjoy! Love the picture of Teddy and Whiskey Sour hanging out together - we have a new apricot poodle pup coming this weekend and we are so excited!!! A bit worried as to how our cat Bessie will take to the new pup though - any tips?
ReplyDeleteGood morning! What a wonderful happy warm feeling post you have this morning! Love it! We have very cold temps here in Michigan, plowing for two days now from a blizzard. But, sun is going to shine this morning and that makes everything alright. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteValerie
Sigh...that sounds wonderful, I can almost smell the eucalyptus of my childhood.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Palos Verdes, Ca (moved to Portland, Or when I was 8 years old)& every year around this time I feel the need to go back & visit.
We are certainly not having the snow like the rest of the country in Portland, but I could use some California right about now. Thanks for giving me a little taste.
I'm w/Dog Trot Farm... Woodstove n soup, critters snuggled... But you warmed me right up. I had a delightfully sunny visit. THANKS!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Leslie
You are one lucky lady! I would love to just see some green grass and dirt right now instead of all the snow banks. Your dogs are so adorable!!!
ReplyDeletewhoa. now, are you sure you don't really live in Colorado? it does that too here. Extremes in a space of one day. enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI am SO jealous of your 80 degrees and sunshine days! Told my hubby today that I could consider moving to FL after such a miserably cold, dreary winter! Teddy is looking quite dapper! Have a lovely week, Kary!
ReplyDeletesounds like you have a little bit of Aussie weather happening there we are sitting on high 90's low 100's everyday at the moment so tired of the heat.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been crazy this year. Here in KS we had a record high the end of January and a record low the first week of February! Crazy!
ReplyDeleteWe've been in the garden all week too! This weather is incredible! I love that shot of Teddy and Whiskey Sour! I think you had the right idea when you got a red poodle. Why on earth would I want a WHITE dog with all this RED dirt all around? I think I must have been in a coma or something. But, Rudy is a sweet dog and I wouldn't sent him back just because of his color. I love him just the same. (But red wouldn't show the dirt!!!)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much visiting and leaving such a lovely comment on my blog! We are so excited about our little puppy, who now has a name. My daughter has named him Logan! He is the most adorable, gorgeous beautifully fun puppy ever!Keeping me very busy at the moment but hoping to post some photos soon!
