Teddy got invited to a birthday party ! The dust is starting to settle around The Farm. Teddy is settling right in and things are a little more calm now. I feel bad about not posting pictures earlier but to tell you the truth, I just wasn't in the mood. Teddy is THE BEST thing in our life. Sometimes the world troubles get me down. The economy, I get lonely here all day alone, even with my tony's (that's what Julie and I call our pets..so you all might as well get in on it too) and now that horrible oil spill. I know the talk isn't very "farmy" today, but all that beautiful wildlife and people who make their living in the fishing industry...sometimes it just feels like the sky is falling in.
But Teddy is doing great. Got his first puppy check-up. Right now he is resting on my shoulder. He needs all his rest cause tomorrow he has a birthday party to go to !
I feel the same way on some days... and that spill is one of MANY, and I hate to even go there.
ReplyDeleteTeddy could not be any more adorable.
Ooooooooooooooh ..... he is so very very sweet,
ReplyDeletesuch an adorable face, and so wonderful to hear that you feel so happy about and around him! How lucky for him to have found such a loving home, I wish you all the joy in the world!
The oil spill is horrible. I mourn for all that is lost, the lives, Mother Nature's bounty, the people whose lives will be even harder after this catastrophe. I pray for a miracle.
I have not managed to come by as often as I'd like to and I am afraid this will not get any better until semester's end - late June.
Hugs,
Merisi
I`m glad Teddy is happy about his new home. I`m sure he already loves you.
ReplyDeletedoesn't it seem like teddy has been there forever? what a cutie and he sure isn't getting spoiled at all is he? hehe!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope things get well, soon, dear Kary ;) and
ReplyDeleteTeddy, don't forget to bring a slice of cake to me, okay ? xxx
Oh Kary, what an adorable, angel new son you have!! Alice didn't have a party yesterday, or he'd have been invited too! She has had a sleepover weekend with China instead (not sure that she loves that present....but we do! x)I LOVE the picture of your feet with him staring up adoringly...just a darling!! The oil spill is terrible. When will humans realise that we are NOT the kings of the world, and the earth isn't ours to abuse...? Just awful to see the suffering and destruction this is causing. I hope it's resolved as quickly as possible. Look into your boy's sweet eyes and the world will be a better place I promise! Sending love & hope from Alice (& China) and Me xoxox
ReplyDeleteteddy came to where teddy belongs!
ReplyDeletei am so happy you have little teddy to cheer you up.
ReplyDeletei certainly hope he remembers all of his party manners
tomorrow at the big party.
blessings,
lea
A sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm to you and to Teddy. What a lovely picture, you typing your blog post with that little puppy snuggled in at your neck. All is right with the world for those few moments! I've been so worried about Louisiana - that area just can't seem to get a break. Can't anyone figure out a way to contain these oil leaks before they become so monstrous? Oh well, back to the sleeping puppy - glad to hear all is going well and what a hoot - he's going to a party tomorrow! Ciao, bella!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Party to Teddy. Hope you all have a great time.
ReplyDeleteTeddy is adorable, enjoy.
sending love & xoxo to Teddy!
Teddy is an absolute DOLL! I can't get over how cute he is!!! Hope he'll continue keeping your spirits up- you deserve it ♥
ReplyDeleteHow great! His first big boy outing!! I do so hope even if you are not sharing you are taking loads of pictures! They grow way to fast!! Look at your boy and smile. The world will go on and we will get through all the ugliness!
ReplyDeleteHugs and smiles!
Lisa
Oh, the little luv-luv. So glad he's with you and keeping you company.
ReplyDeleteit's unbelievable the situations humans create. Between the oil spill, the unconscionable immigrant laws in Arizona, the ,oh I'm sorry. i always get fired up.
But you're right to feel sad and to feel angry and then keep doing right in your part of the world.
A big hug to you and remember, you are not no never alone.
Teddy looks like he's adjusting well, and keeping you busy. And with parties in the future, he'll have lots to adjust to.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little guy and I see that he is a spirit lifter. There is a lot of bad news in the world so the good things are doubly dear.
ReplyDeleteSometimes when we have those lonely or low moments, that's exactly when our animals have the most to give. Your little chap is delightful; I hope he helps your spirits to lift soon.
ReplyDeleteYesterday, for the third time in as many weeks, I left the farm and had fun. Of course, I paid for it last night as the surgical site ached like a toothache and the only thing that took my mind off that was the swelling and pain in my knee. -grin- I tell you, Kary, staying home, generally, means I can escape the outside world but this week the outside world has crept in. It really has been overwhelming and crushing...all the terrible things going on. I hold fast to my faith in Christ, hold fast to my critters, hold fast to Dave and pray.
ReplyDeleteawwwwwww Teddy!!! speaking of cute.. who's adorable black and white feet are they? lol
ReplyDeletehope the bday party was fun!
Happy May
It makes me sick to think about the oil spill and all the lives lost. It breaks my heart thinking about all the wildlife, marine, vegetation and the people who will suffer from it.....
ReplyDeleteAt times like this, it's so nice to come to your blog and see that darling little face looking up at us. There is some bright spots in this world! Thank goodness for those rays of sunshine like Teddy!!!
Can wait to see more pics! Hope the party was fun! XOXO - Cindi and Louie
Oh, Kary, if he isn't the cutest pup ever, I don't know! Adorable!! I can just imagine that he has completely captured your hearts. There is just no other way... So happy for you!!! Love, Silke
ReplyDeleteEveryone needs a Teddy to love and adore - especially when we are hit with the terrible news out there in the world.

Claudia
Aww...Teddy is adorable...I'm so happy for you : )
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Sunny
Hope he (and you) had fun! xxoo Nancy
ReplyDeleteTeddy is just the sweetest. All the dire circumstances in the world can make anyone feel down, if we all did our part to aid our fellow man I believe the world would be a better place. Get chickens, they put a song in your heart and a smile on your face!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. I'm very happy for you and Teddy.
ReplyDeleteone love.
I know what you mean sweetheart...sometimes I watch the news and wish I hadn't. As important as it is to be a responsible world citizen, I believe that peace and happiness begins at home. I am so glad that Teddy has brought love to your little family. Bless is cuddly lil' heart!
ReplyDeleteHave a ball at the party. :)
XO
teddy sure has fit right in quickly! we had a rainy humid day today and teddy refused to go outside. she is so picky! i am soooo glad that you all are so happy now!
ReplyDeleteOMG! Teddy is precious! I can't wait to watch him grow up! I'm very intimidated by your cooking experience! Thankfully my sad little chocolate recipe didn't chase you off! I'm looking forward to reading more & am now following you back!
ReplyDeletehow fun! glad teddy got to go to a party :)
ReplyDeletei am right there with you with this disaster in louisiana. that is my home state, i grew up on the gulf coast and my dad is in the oil biz so it's especially disheartening for me. i just want to go down there and scoop up all those poor creatures. it makes my heart ache.
Oh Kary! could Teddy be any cuter? I know just how you feel spoiling a little puppy has to be the funnest thing in the world.
ReplyDeletelots of love,
lori and owen ♥
Well, that sweet face should drive a few blues away, I would think! :)
ReplyDeleteTeddy is adorable. I just found your blog and I love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious little dog! Even with all the terrible news, I know he is brightening your day! When the TV news starts getting me down, I take a little HGTV break! It helps! Hope Teddy had a lovely time at the birthday party!
ReplyDeleteTeddy is gorgeous, Kary! And how fun! A birthday party to attend. I just know Teddy is going to be the center of attention.
ReplyDeleteHe's adorable!
ReplyDeleteMake sure that you have fun at the birthday party too, Kary - I'm sure you will with Teddy for company. x
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you have Teddy. But I know how you feel. Even my wonderful weekend away had a "kiss" of blues to it no matter how hard I tried to look on the bright side.
ReplyDeleteHow could you be alone with all of us around
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pics of Teddy
and yes..he is the cutest
What a sweetie pie face! He is completely and totally adorable, and you two were meant to be together!
ReplyDeleteI agree. .the devestation of that oil spill is heart rendering. I feel physical pain thinking about how the innocent animals and habitats are going to be affected forever.
It is in times like these, that those of us that can't be there directly helping, have to find solice elsewhere. .give something back to Mother Earth. Plant a tree, plant native species that feed birds, butterflies and other insects, provide water features for them, and snuggle with our home-sharing furry friends, knowing that we are giving them a good, loving home.
Your Teddy is SO lucky!!
Hi sweets, I hope you and Teddy are doing well and that he is slowly mending your aching heart!! Love, Silke
ReplyDeletei've been thinking a lot about you and i know you must be very busy with the little one! when you have time, post some more pics. i would love to see him!
ReplyDeleteHey You!
ReplyDeleteI'm patiently waiting for more pics of Teddy!
(OK, maybe patiently isn't the right word! LOL!)
XOXO - Cindi
When I was in New Orleans a year ago this past Feb, it was so sad to me to see how litle had been done to help them recover from Katrina...now the oil spill is going to affect their shrimp. oyster and fish industry in a major way. It is all too sad.
ReplyDeleteWe need to focus on help these guys recover!
I've been on a high since Laura and Alex's wedding last Friday...check out the pictures =
ReplyDeletehttp://rnsane.blogspot.com/2010/05/here-comes-bride-mr-mrs-alexander.html#links - but I mourn for New Orleans, where I went to nursing school 45 years ago and lived for six years. The city still has not recovered from the aftermath of Katrina. When I was there a year ago in Feb, I was totally apalled at all the boarded up homes and disrepair. This should NOT be in one of our own cities. We are so quick to rush to aid outside our own country. Now look at what is happening with the oil spill...and hurricane season is, again, right around the corner.
Hi, I am new here, a refuge from the oil spill blues. California is the place for me to run to even on a blog! I declared one day that I would live in California, and the day never came, so here I am on the Gulf Coast enjoying oil. (not)
ReplyDeleteSo happy to find a real person who cooks from scratch and actually met and studied with those famous chefs! I did visit your town for a whole day (a few years ago) and fell in love with it. Lunch al fresco by the side of a little foot bridge, lovely!
