First off, Teddy is doing great. We are so IN LOVE with him. And he has sure kept me busy. But I am finding some time to bake. I have been going up to my friends restaurant in Atascadero, Ca. It is called FIG GOOD FOOD and have been baking meyer lemon tarts.
I started making lemon and blueberry tarts years ago. The first photograph was a picture of my tarts in Country Living Gardener magazine. Lemon is my favorite dessert...so I was excited when Greg, Molly and Chris wanted them in their restaurant. There is a farm stand out in the Edna Valley that is selling meyer lemons. So Teddy and I load up and head out there to get the lemons. Teddy loves to sleep on my lap as we wind our way through the vineyards and lupines and poppies...so happy just to be on my lap.....snoozing away. The pictures I have of Teddy right now all look the same..so I need to get some new ones to show you. I'll work on that this week.
I snuck a peek at Teddy as I was coming in the door to see what he was doing..and there he was...all curled up on the little rug in the kitchen, laying in the sun...and snuggled right up next to Whiskey....and my heart melted.
That looks delicious! :-) I´m going to my country cottage later this week, and I´m planning to do some baking...maybe something sweet too?

ReplyDeletewell well my dear friend. i am very happy to wish you a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! i am so happy you have a new born to love and snuggle with! i know this is a very happy mother's day for you. my poor baby got double teamed by two st. bernards that were off leash and attacked her at the park while she was on leash. one of them bit her. she was with my husbsnd so they lucked out because if i had been there i would have kicked some st. bernard buttS!!!! my poor baby got lots of treats and hugs and kisses all day but she won't even let me look at her bite. 4 police cars showed up and the woman is being sited. unreal. those tarts look too scrumptious! i am sure you don't give out that recipe but i think i am going to be trying to make some of those soon. they will be a huge hit in this house. if you are interested, i have a FABULOUS raspberry tart recipe that i am sure that restaurant would love!

ReplyDeletebeautiful, they must be heavenly!
so happy to hear sweet teddy stories.
A sweet hello from Frog Hollow Farm to you Kary, so glad that Teddy is doing well - and you are sounding fantastic! I'm so jealous of those lemon tarts, I fear that I don't have the patience for baking, and I just can't seem to make a crust that doesn't break apart while rolling it. My mom made the best pie crust, I think it's a talent you are born with! Ciao, bella!
ReplyDeleteWow! Those tarts look wicked! Delicious! xxx
ReplyDeleteWell this is a treat to see and to read. Hope you enjoyed your Mothers Day with the little lamb. Your tarts do look so delicious and professional. I'm no baker, damn it, but I am a eater, and I would love a slice of one of those.

Those images look so tempting, and I am at least a continent away from getting ahold of a Meyer lemon. Memory of its unique taste still lingers. How long, I ask?
