I know how you feel. I still get choked up when I mention my Maddie's name. She was the love of my life. But I try to think of the happy years we had together and how someday we will be together again. But I have my other furry babies to comfort me and bring me joy just like Teddy is doing for you. Sending you XOXO! Your friend Cindi (& Louie)
Buddy was your little family member, one who wiggled his way into your heart, one who you will see again. The grief lessons, but our pets are not forgotten. We still talk about our pets, and their antics, we laugh and are glad they were part of our lives.
Teddy is another sweet little member of your family, wiggling his way into your hearts and lives as well.
My husband mourned for well over a year and we swore we'd never get another pet. The heartache was too much. I am so glad we changed our minds. Glad you have Teddy now, too.
I miss my Fredo still and it has been years, you just learn to put them in a special place. That way you can love and laugh again, and I'm so glad you have little Teddy to help you with that.
Sending love to you and Teddy on Earth and also for Buddy in heaven. I am sure he is running on green fields trying to catch butterflies until the day all of us will get together again :)
Oh no, what a very sad anniversary... That is a lovely flower, so appropriate. I hope that time can lessen your pain and strengthen your fond memories of him. xoxo
Ah, Kary, I am sure you will eternally miss this lovely dog that shared your life for so many years. I hope Teddy's antics are making you smile, though. I'm sure he's keeping you busy.
Dearest Kary, I know he's still there with you - your little shadow dog, loving you and helping sweet Teddy to settle in & grow safely. They never leave us. Thinking of you with love, Alice & me xoxox Rachel
You will never love him less, it's just the pain lessens alittle. My Leo died one year ago on May 12th, and I still miss him. Even though we adopted another cute cat name Zach, he's not Leo. And I guess he's not suppose to be Leo. He's Zach, with his own cute personality. I guess they're like kids, you're not suppose to compare them. I don't know. I wish you a peaceful heart.
We lost a precious dog also named Buddy. (Buddy was my late father's nickname). It was an awful thing to comprehend, we believe he was intentionally poisoned. Although it's been almost ten years, he still holds a place in our hearts. We're raising Ozzie and Cooper now, and they're a joy...but we'll never forget our Buddy.
Aloha Kary, I have missed my visits with you and all of my blogsphere beauties, our love for never dies, that is a tender mercy in life.....hoping you are well, Aloha Brandi
Louie just wanted me to check in on his little blog pal, Teddy! The other night I left the "big guys" at work and then that evening (of course) I heard a crash downstairs! Louie started barking like he meant business! (I've never heard that before!) we went downstairs together and ....nothing! must have been the cats? Anyway, back upstairs we went with little Louie being so brave leading the way! I had to laugh when I picked up my little warrior and set him up on the bed (he's too tiny and can't jump that high!) God, I love my critters! Hope all is well! XOXO - Cindi
How are you doing, sweet Kary?! I cannot believe it's been this long since Buddy's passing. I hope that Teddy is able to provide my joy in your life!! Sending much love, Silke
oh no...teddy gets car sick just like me. i HAVE to drive. if i ride i get sick. i can't go on a boat, i can't even sit on a swing. and amusement parks were nightmares for me. poor lil' teddy. that was nice to give the homeless kid your burrito. maybe it will bring goood karma to the mexico/argentina game in todays world cup series. i will be watching it at a mexican restaurant!
I'm glad you dropped by and that it was one of the better parts of your weekend, and I'm glad that you shared your burrito. On a really crappy day it might just pop into your head and make you feel a little bit better. If my post improved your weekend, this one might be helpful, too.
PS. I have been there birthday-wise; the year I turned 35 I was very annoyed to be told by my mother that I was in fact 36. She bought me an ice cream, but the damage was done.
i don't dare bring crab into this house unless i have pounds of it earmarked for teddy. our last chow freddy, would sit outside of the dining room door and cry even though we gave it to her. she wanted it all! they were raised and bred in northern china and fed mainly seafood and it is in their genes. when we get to salem, that is all teddy will eat. she eats lobster with the shell! if you like pesto, you will like this recipe. i am still working on my basement and am only about a forth done. ugh! what a job!
It will be three years this coming January that I said my sad goodbyes to my soul mate dog Jake. He was just past 13 a lovely ripe old age for a retriever. I miss him still, not nearly as sharply thank goodness, but it's a loss that's left a hole that I'm realizing will never be filled (by dog or human). I'm glad for you that you have another dog because a dog makes a house a home. They are the best kind of friend. Know that we're thinking of you and sending lots of love from far away Nova Scotia xo Susan & les Gang
the night will never stay, the night will still go by, though with a million stars you pin it to the sky; though you bind it with the blowing wind, and buckle it with the moon, the night will slip away like sorrow or a tune.
You never get over the loss. You just feel a little less pain.

I only knew Buddy through pictures and words. But i miss him too. If anything happened to our pup I would be devastated.
