Kary, when I read the title of this post my heart stopped and I did not want to read further. My heart bleeds for you. I know I so so know how sad and heart broken you are. Just know I am there and that I love you Lorrie
Oh, Kary. I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am. I am so sorry you're having to experience this. I'm seding prayers for comfort and peace your way.
oh kary..i am so so sorry. what happened. before i had teddy i had freddy the love of my life. it is so hard to lose these wonderful animals. i'll be thinking of you!
Oh, Kary, I am so, so sorry. I know how much Buddy was loved - is loved - and how much pain you must be in. Dear friend, if you need to talk please email me.
The loss of a beloved pet and companion is unbearably difficult. Buddy will always be with you.
Sweet little Buddy. You were the very best parents there ever were. Wasn't it lucky you found eachother? You will always have him in your heart, your wonderful boy. I'm here if you need to talk love, julie
Just started reading your blog recently- Want to send my sincere condolences- I too lost my best friend last October- I have found that I was the lucky one and he taught me so much about myself- I now have a new love and sincerely miss my Patty boy but think that he sent the new dog to me- I hope you can get to this place too.
My adored tabby cat died Feb. 13, so recently, so I can understand how depressed and sad you are, dear friend. I planted some flowers in memory of my cat, and it lifts me heart to see them blooming. Maybe planting something in Buddy's honor would help you. Terra
Awww Im so so sorry! The sorrow...but you know I think all the animals we ever Loved we will see again! One fine day"! Your loved doggie went on ahead is my feeling and is waiting! Yes One fine day and what a day that will be. Your heart breaks with Sorrow...and I'm so very sorry I know how that hurts. Huggs from Texas ox
I am so sorry to hear about Buddy. Losing a member of the family like this is devestating. Our pug Suki passed away too this past summer. I like to think of her spirit as inhabiting the squirrels, flowers, bees, and other things she liked to chase and sniff. It's hard.....I am so sorry.
My husband often asks when I've been in this situation "Is it worth it? All the heartache? Why put yourself through it?" I think that's ridiculous because our animal companions bring us so much - unconditional love, trust and understanding, a true companion. When they are gone, the heartache is so very painful, but yes, the comraderie worth every minute.
Our little dog Bailey is just 3 and has been diagnosed with cancer. We initiated Chemo last week, and I hope we are doing the right thing. Absolutely heartbroken.
Kary, I'm keepin you in my thoughts and prayers. Pets are such sweet souls and losing one is so sad. Have you ever heard about The Rainbow Bridge? It is poem and a website dealing with pet loss. Here is the link http://rainbowbridge.com/ . Take care of yourself and you have my email if you want to email me. LadyCat
Dearest Kary, There are not enough words to articulate how very sorry I am for your loss. I cannot even begin to imagine the sadness that you and John must be feeling. My thoughts and love are with you Morwenna xoxo
I know what it feels like. I have always had cats (have one now, she features in my blog several times) and the only bad thing about having a pet is that, usually, we outlive them and sometimes have to decide about life or death for them. It is, by the way, 16 weeks today that my husband died. Which does not make losing a pet any less painful but (at least for me) puts things into perspective. Here is a virtual hug for you.
Dear Kary Visiting you here for the first time today and want to send my deepest and heartfelt condolences on the loss of your Buddy. I know only too well how much you will miss him. We lost our *Buddy*, also 15, three weeks ago and I understand the pain and sadness you feel. The pain is the *other side* of the deep love you have been fortunate to share with your special companion. I am so sorry for your loss.
One thing I have been sure of in the blogger world, is how very much you loved and will continue to love your Buddy. I am wrapping you tightly in a prayer for healing grief.
I am so very sorry to hear this news today. My heart goes out to you and your family. Our animals are more than just a pet, but part of the family. I will pray for you all.
Kary, dearest. Your life will never be the same.I wish I could have met him. I'm sending you love and thinking of you in your pain, which I know will feel so raw right now.You loved each other & gave each other so much joy. He's running free now, and will be waiting for you - I'm sure of that. With our love xoxoxo Rachel & Alice
Oh my gosh, Kary! I'm am so sorry! I have been busy getting The Herbal Husband ready for his trip! I just spotted your post! What great memories you have of your Buddy! I know you will carry those with you in this time of grief! A big hug and kiss from me to you! xxoo Nancy
oh, Kary! I am so sorry to see this post! I know that there are no words to heal the wound from your loss, but know that we are all there with you in thought, we love you and hope that you can remember all of the wonderful times you had with buddy (such a cutie!) know that he will always be with you in spirit and you gave him a great home and life which many dogs don't get. you will always be HIS best friend! xoxo
i just can't shake this. i have felt horrible all day. when i lost my beloved freddy 5 years ago i just lost it. i cried for 3 straight months and read every pet loss book known to man. i still have them all so if you would like any of them i would be more than happy to give them to you. the only thing that saved me was getting teddy. as long as we are capable of this kind of love for animals, we should find another to shower it on them. i know how awful you feel but i am hoping you can find a way to heal yourself!
There is nothing to be said that will ease the pain of your loss, but know that the passing of such a beloved pet was accompanied by the heartfelt wishes of so many for him to have a peaceful passage.
Oh, dear Kary, I am so so sorry for your loss of dear Buddy. I doubt that there are any words we can say her to console you in your loss but do know that we are all here thinking of you. I'm so glad I heard to this so we could lift you up in thought and prayer.
"It is not just that animals make the world more scenic or picturesque. The lives of animals are woven into our very being - closer than our own breathing - and our soul will suffer when they are gone." (Gary Kowalski, Author of The Souls of Animals)
Dear Kary, I am sure that Buddy was not your first, nor may he be your last, but he will always be "the one." It is sad that this opportunity only seems to come once, but then again, how blessed are we that we were given this one chance? Buddy will always be in your heart, and so, lives on forever.
Bless your sweet heart, Kary. I know your pain. Animals are angels in disguise. I think they learn all about us while they are here and when they leave us, look after us in a different way. Thinking of you. ~Mandy
My heart goes out to you! You will be missing your little Buddy so much. I hope you are able to give your dear doggy a beautiful farewell. My Condolences.
I am so sorry for your loss Kary....I can tell from your posts that Buddy was everything to you and I believe that you also were everything to him....our pets are so much more in touch with us than most people realize....I'm sending prayers your way to help comfort you with your loss...take care.
Oh dear Kary... The moment I read your title my heart just dropped. Sending so many hugs your way, and love, and tears to join yours. Praying for your peace.
Dear Kary, I am so very sorry and send you my deepest sympathy. I'll share these words that I find comforting in times like these: "If we continue to love the one we lose, we never lose the one we love." My thoughts are with you...xo
Oh hunny, so so sorry...I know how you must feel - it is terrible, absolutely terrible when we lose our cats...at least you can console yourself to know that you gave Buddy the best possible life with lots and lots of love -which some animals will never know or experience. Take care and sending you love xxx
Kary, I was moved beyond words when I saw this post, I know nothing anyone can say or write will make you feel better at the present time. I just want you to know that I am thinking of you and sending you big hugs through cyber space. XX
I am so sorry for your loss, I understand the heart break & my heart goes out to you. When our family chow chow, Kennedy had to be let down (due to severe hip pain), it was a very hard decision. It has taken a lot of time to get over (she passed over three year ago & we are just now thinking about getting a new puppy). I know the void it leaves in your daily life & the vacant feeling in the house. My sincere & deep sympathy to you & your family. May this heartache pass quickly.
I am truly sorry for your loss. We dog "folk" know how terrible this kind of life loss can be. Please remember that not only did Buddy bless your life, he was blessed by having you.
We've only had a pup for a few months, so I'm just starting to understand how hard this could be. A beautiful dog...I'm just sure with all the joy they bring...they must go to heaven. Really feeling for you. Holly
Hugs, Hugs, Kleenex, and more HUGS!!! My heart goes out to you! We lost our most favoritist doggie in the world in June to cancer and I know your pain! Just know he's up in heaven with buttercups tickling his belly, running in the sunshine, in no pain and all is well! Plus he's got a new friend, Floyd to play with!
Oh, I am so sorry! When one of James Herriot's clients would lose their dog he always advised them to get another right away. So I would always tell friends to get another one right away. "It will heal your heart" I would say. That was until my Tootsie passed. I didn't want another dog I wanted my Tootsie! It was 2 years last month that she died and I still miss her. I eventually did get another dog but there is still that space in my heart where Tootsie lives.
Dearest Kary, just wanted to let you know we're thinking of you still...you're not forgotten even though you're so far away. There's so much love out there for you both. I just wanted you to know.xoxo Rachel
No greater loss. So very true. I have been through this particular pain, and there is nothing like it in life. Just the hardest thing. I am thinking of you. And saying a prayer.
oh kary! i just saw this today...i am SO sorry for your loss. i can only imagine how sad you must be...but i know that buddy made your life so much brighter, so there is much to be thankful for.
many kisses and hugs from me and roxy. i hope to hear from you soon.
Today is Monday and things a warming up here in South Central Florida. Walmart and Lowe's gardening places are filled with tender vegetable and flowers plants. The color, the greenery, is so gorgeous and leaves me wishing for a space to garden.
I am so bogged down with my own concerns here in GA, I didn't even know your sweet Buddy had died. I am so sorry to hear this. I send you a thousand hugs and kisses.
Oh, my sweet friend, I am so, so sorry for your loss. I've been away from blogging this week and am only just seeing your message tonight. I know the loss of Buddy must be a terrible blow. You're in my thoughts and heart, and I can only send you all my warmest wishes for healing and comfort.
Oh, Kary, I've been sick and can't believe I missed this post. You must be just heartbroken! I am so sorry for you, knowing from experience what you are going through! Losing our beloved pet leaves such a gaping hole! Sending you all my love and a big hug! Silke
I tried so many times to say how very very sorry I am. It's a week now and I hope you have found some moments of peace. Sending good thoughts, virtual hugs your way. Little Buddy, may he rest in peace.
I am so sorry for you. We went through this twice with our kitties who were sisters born in the same litter. One lived sixteen years and the other eighteen years.
My heart goes out to you as the grief is just as heavy as if they were human members of the family.
As I am exploring your lovely blog I see this sad news. I am sorry for your loss, we lost our sweet Maggie a few months ago and it is so hard. Our pets are our family and it is heart breaking to lose them.
((((hugs)) I have two toy poodles, the youngest looks very similar to your precious Buddy...I'm so sorry for the loss of your precious beautiful Buddy...
Kary, I'm so sorry to read about Buddy, having not blogged for a while and hope that you are able to find some consolation some how. Take care, Lesley x
I am sorry for your loss of your dear sweet friend. I have buried many of my pets and the loss is unbearable each time. I will pray to God to ease your sorrow. I truly do understand.
This is my first visit to your blog but not my last. I live in the Mohave Desert in NW Arizona and your scenery as well as your wonderful posts will bring me back.
Kary, I know this is late, but trust me it is heartfelt when I say to you I understand or I can at least relate. Our creatures great (a Bernese Mountain Dog can weigh as much as 140 pounds -- Gracie is a smaller one at 89 pounds)---and our creatures small---your Buddy--give love so far beyond what we give to them. I am lighting a little votive candle at my kitchen work table just beside my laptop today to remember Buddy and the joy he gave this world and you!
the night will never stay, the night will still go by, though with a million stars you pin it to the sky; though you bind it with the blowing wind, and buckle it with the moon, the night will slip away like sorrow or a tune.
Kary, when I read the title of this post my heart stopped and I did not want to read further. My heart bleeds for you. I know I so so know how sad and heart broken you are. Just know I am there and that I love you Lorrie

Kary,
ReplyDeleteThinking of you. Wanted to let you know that you're in my prayers.
I am so sorry for you. We went through this twice with our kitties who were sisters born in the same litter. One lived sixteen years and the other eighteen years.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you as the grief is just as heavy as if they were human members of the family.
There is nothing I can say that hasn't been said. I just wanted to tell you I hear you. I have been there. Oh God, I have been there. So sorry.
