A Trip To Carlock's Bakery

I took a ride out to Carlock's Bakery today. It about 15 minutes away in Los Osos. It was such a pretty drive because the hills are so green and the yellow mustard is in full bloom. When I got there, it did not dissapoint...I go there for every holiday just because it is so old fashion.

The men were sitting in the back drinking coffee and eating doughnuts. Nothing fancy here. Nothing trendy. Just coffee and doughnuts. The place always reminds of the bakery in my hometown of Los Gatos called The Cream Puff. When you walk in the ladies are dressed in pink and white dresses and are ready to help. The chalkboard in the back lists the specials of the day. Today it was all Valentines. I brought home the little tiny heart shaped cake in the last picture for John and I to share tonight with some fresh raspberries. Sending all of you Warm Valentine Wishes.

  2. I'm barefoot today too and unpacking 24 thymes, 6 calamints, 24 scented pelargoniums, and doing lots of watering. Do you believe it after all this rain??

Had Sara and Mo for 7 hours too so I am out of it.

Happy Valentine's day. I found old pics of us baking heart shaped cookies in your old Squirrel Cottage kitchen. Darling pics.

    Love,

    Sharon

  6. Ah, cookies and cakes for Valentine! We'll have french toast with blueberries to kick the day off. Then, we'll take an extra walk tomorrow, to give our hearts the benefit of heart-healthy exercise.

    Joy to you.

  10. The bakery looks like a wonderful place to visit. My little town doesn't have a bakery (except at the supermarket), so it was fun to join you on your trip!

  18. Yummm...everything looks so good! We have a bakery here that has been around forever. I remember going to it as a child. They have the best butter cookies with a drop of red icing in the center. I've never found any to compare.
I like that the cake on top says "To My Funny Valentine". I love that song. Happy Valentine's Day! When is tea?

Guess what, it's supposed to get warmer here on Wednesday! No barefeet or cherry blossoms yet. But it does refresh the spirit to know the sun may shine a little, and the birds will sing!
Thinking of you on Valentine's Day, sending you and your loving hubby (and Buddy and Whisky Sour too, of course) many valentines hugs and kisses.
    Love you,
