Not here! Summer is alive and well and oh, so hot!! It's still in the mid 90's and it's after six pm. And I bet the humidity is 350%!! Warm greeting!! Love, Silke
Oh, lovely, lovely blog! I am so happy you came by Little Blue Deer so I could find you! You live in SLO! That's one of my favorite places in the country, so lovely there, you are so fortunate! Happy to find you, and happy to be your newest follower! XO!
I can feel the change here also. It's still hot but it really has started to smell a little like fall in the early morning and dusk comes about 30 minutes earlier now. I so enjoy your blog!
So sad but true... but it's still hot as heck here in the midwest. But the sun is setting behind the trees much earlier... better step out now.... don't tell me snow is on the way.
It is that time of year. I don't care for the heat and I do enjoy the fall. But all it means to me is that school is almost ready to begin again. Aaaaaaaaaaaa! Not ready!!!
Yes, I am noticing the same thing...summer giving up her fight indeed. While I love fall, I am missing the gloriously long days of June and July. But, hello August!
I really like this... haven't seen much of a change here in Texas; it's still really hot and staying light until 8pm or after.
I go outside at midnight or so... it is quiet and the dogs and I love it. It is cooler and I can hear the bird rustle around, and the squirrels. We stay out there for a long time.
i am soooo jealous of your weather! it is so hot and humid here it feels like you are walking into a sauna when you walk outside. you can hardly breathe. i never heard of that cookbook either but i will check it out. these are wonderful rolls and you should give them a try sometime. but they are not as good as the next ones i will be posting. omg...they are killer. they are quite different though so they are both keepers. as soon as the weather shifts i will start fall cooking.
the night will never stay, the night will still go by, though with a million stars you pin it to the sky; though you bind it with the blowing wind, and buckle it with the moon, the night will slip away like sorrow or a tune.
so true, my friend. so very true.

ReplyDeleteooohh...I hope that cooler weather is on it's way over here! :)
ReplyDeleteSad but true, 39 minutes of daylight gone. However, we still have the delightful month of August to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI will be glad for cooler temps, not necessarily shorter day light.

Brings tears to my eyes, for sure. I wait all winter long for this kind of weather, and it breaks my heart to see it pass so quickly.

ReplyDeleteSummer is in full force here.. but I know that soon the days will get cooler and shorter.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to enjoy all that is left.
Bitter sweet ♥
ReplyDeleteFlannel pajamas indeed!
ReplyDeleteOur days are shorter but they're just as hot.
At least when I'm complaining about the snow I'm able to turn on the oven and bake something delicious.
I must remain grateful.... xo Jane
i wish....but not here. but i'm glad you're getting a reprieve.
ReplyDeleteEven though it's very warm here, I can feel the air shifting when the breeze flows through.

ReplyDeleteHappy Friday.

The weather has been so wonderful around here lately. Beautiful sunny but cool days. I've loved being outside.
ReplyDeleteI'm ready....
ReplyDeleteIt makes me wish there was a "stop" button I could push to make summer hang around longer. I dread getting back into the morning school routine.
ReplyDeleteAh, those words remind me of the Indigo Girls' song "Mystery"

ReplyDeleteYes, I can feel that a little here too in France...though maybe it is just a low spell...xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to take a class from the original owners of The French Laundry. Oh would I love doing that.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for visiting me today. My cousin is an artist in Santa Maria, near you. One of the pictures here even looks a little like her painting.
Summer has it's place, it is a season I know, but I will not be sad to see her go.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by dear!
Sending love & hugs to you and Teddy Sweet Face.
Sandi
Evenings are, just a tad, bit cooler. I felt Autumn earlier this week and the shortening light of days says the same.
ReplyDeleteI noticed the light has changed too. It's so subtle and clear at the same time. Such a bittersweet sight.
ReplyDeleteOh and Willow sent me here! : )
