I really did hesitate on if I should show you this...or not. But I'm not kidding. These flowers are really blooming in my garden...today. February 10th. To be fair...it has been raining alot. But this morning we woke to clear sunny skies and a warm sun. Took Buddy for his walk in my slippers. Then headed out to the garden in a t-shirt in see what was blooming. I won't dwell on it. We are going to walk downtown now for some tea. There is an old plum tree in full bloom right now at The Old Mission in downtown San Luis Obispo. I want to get a picture of it before it goes by to share with you...Spring Dreams, my friends....

We almost moved to Cambria before we found our place here on the Oregon Coast. This show makes me jealous! I will enjoy it vicariously. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteNO, they are not. You are pulling out legs. We are knee deep in snow this morning here outside of Chicago. We were all awoken here at 4am too, with a mild earthquake too. Earthquake and Chicago, doesn't really happen. Snow, yes, earth moving no. So if these are in your garden, I'm on my way. I need to pull some weeds...please.

ReplyDeleteI know it is beautiful there and, actually, we are having a lovely sunny day here as well. I'm going out for Japanese food in a few minutes, partly because my giant bottle of excellent sake is chilling in their refrigerator. I got into those exceptional cold sakes when I visited Japan - they, sadly, have a steep price tag but a friend bought me this one when we went for a belated Christmas dinner last week.

ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here crying. The snow drifts are up to my waste and were only at my knees this morning; the wind chills are kissing zero, my bedroom is in the 40's and I need to take a shower only haven't figured out a way to take a shower while fully clothed.

Oh, I am so jealous right now! We got more snow yesterday and it's supposed to be 0 tonight. Maybe we should consider CA, when we retire. Hubby thought their were too many people there but if he saw this, maybe he would reconsider. You have a gorgeous garden too! Cindy

ReplyDeleteWhen I opened a cabinet a few days ago, sunflower seeds rained down on me from some forgotten cabinet. I tossed them into a pot, recently vacated by an unfortunate cactus and watch it, daily for any sign of life. I need a splash of color...I almost posted a picture of my backyard view on my blog today, but it was too depressing. Thanks for sharing yours.

I want to grow those sunflowers this year, but we haven't even bought the seeds yet! This is one of the reasons us snow bunnies would like to live in southern CA. Your blog and photos are a treat and a much welcomed ray of sunshine and warmth! Very inviting! Tootles!
