I'll keep this short.
I really did hesitate on if I should show you this...or not. But I'm not kidding. These flowers are really blooming in my garden...today. February 10th. To be fair...it has been raining alot. But this morning we woke to clear sunny skies and a warm sun. Took Buddy for his walk in my slippers. Then headed out to the garden in a t-shirt in see what was blooming. I won't dwell on it. We are going to walk downtown now for some tea. There is an old plum tree in full bloom right now at The Old Mission in downtown San Luis Obispo. I want to get a picture of it before it goes by to share with you...Spring Dreams, my friends....
We almost moved to Cambria before we found our place here on the Oregon Coast. This show makes me jealous! I will enjoy it vicariously. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteNO, they are not. You are pulling out legs. We are knee deep in snow this morning here outside of Chicago. We were all awoken here at 4am too, with a mild earthquake too. Earthquake and Chicago, doesn't really happen. Snow, yes, earth moving no. So if these are in your garden, I'm on my way. I need to pull some weeds...please.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kate -xooxoxoxo<3
So lovely. You are having better weather than us, and we are not that far away. Lucky! Holly
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm...... maybe we'll end up moving to Cambria:). What beauty!! I'm slightly jealous, though happy for you:). Sounds like a lovely morning. I can't wait to see more photos:).

I can only look at these photos and dream of Spring..lol..it is freezing cold here with tons of snow on the ground. Enjoy your walk downtown! Happy Wednesday!

So amazing to realize that you have such beautiful flowers in yor garden at this time...I had thought maybe they were from last summer! It's subdued here with possible snow this afternoon. Loved your photos!
ReplyDeleteHi - I am new here. Found you via lakeviewer's blog. I can't imagine flowers blooming anywhere since we are in the middle of a snowstorm.
ReplyDeleteIs Buddy your dog? I have a dog called Buddy too and another one called Lucky.
I like your blog and it is nice meeting you :)
Bhavana aka Pinkdogwood :)
Sunflowers and cosmos, so early! We don't get those until July.
ReplyDeleteX
Good Golly, that is inconceivable to me right now! We're buried in snow and it's still sifting down.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this beauty with us!
xoxo
I can look into my garden photo file and see pretty flowers. I am glad you can actually see, smell and touch them. Great for you-enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThe sight of that sunflower just lifts my heart out of this colorless gloom that is winter just now... I appreciate you sharing this. Kay Guest (from Georgia..no snow..thank goodness, but no flowers!)
ReplyDeleteI know it is beautiful there and, actually, we are having a lovely sunny day here as well. I'm going out for Japanese food in a few minutes, partly because my giant bottle of excellent sake is chilling in their refrigerator. I got into those exceptional cold sakes when I visited Japan - they, sadly, have a steep price tag but a friend bought me this one when we went for a belated Christmas dinner last week.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! xxoo Nancy
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here crying. The snow drifts are up to my waste and were only at my knees this morning; the wind chills are kissing zero, my bedroom is in the 40's and I need to take a shower only haven't figured out a way to take a shower while fully clothed.
ReplyDeletesigh.
And you've got SUNFLOWERS blooming!
sniff. sniff.
No, I'm not crying; it's the cold, trust me.
Oh jeeze, I can't believe this I thought you were going to promise us all that SOMEDAY these flowers will be blooming. But,no, you're seeing, touching and smelling these even as I stare out my window ,here in Finland, er Virginia, trying to see across the street. Thanks for sharing your bounty with snow bound bloggers.
ReplyDeleteDo we live in the same state?
ReplyDeletelovely. All that recent rain did some good, I think
ReplyDeleteAh, sunny California! You guys get sunflowers, and us New Yorkers get a foot of snow! :p
ReplyDeleteIf I said I'm jealous, I would be putting it mildly. It is cold, windy, snowy and did I say cold? I can't wait for spring.

Oh my golly crumpets I am in shock! You have sunflowers and cosmos, you are so lucky
ReplyDeleteLove Morwenna xoxo
Oh, I am so jealous right now! We got more snow yesterday and it's supposed to be 0 tonight. Maybe we should consider CA, when we retire. Hubby thought their were too many people there but if he saw this, maybe he would reconsider. You have a gorgeous garden too! Cindy
ReplyDeleteyes, snow in the east! Guess they need it for the Olympics! We'll be glad to send it there. Geraniums are still in bloom on my enclosed back porch...Enjoy fresh flowers....my favorite!
ReplyDeleteJennifer aka gigi
oh my goodness, how beautiful. it will be months and months before we see any of that around here. Thank you for sharing. Sunflowers are my absolute favourite flower. They look like big happy faces to me. xox
ReplyDeleteWhen I opened a cabinet a few days ago, sunflower seeds rained down on me from some forgotten cabinet. I tossed them into a pot, recently vacated by an unfortunate cactus and watch it, daily for any sign of life. I need a splash of color...I almost posted a picture of my backyard view on my blog today, but it was too depressing. Thanks for sharing yours.
ReplyDeleteI found you over at Jen Chandler's place. Stop on by for a visit when you find some time :)
Oh, so gorgeous! How did I miss these. I so love sunflowers - such happy flowers!! Thank you for sharing!! Love, Silke
ReplyDeleteSigh....I miss seeing any color in my yard other than white. I would rather be enjoying a lovely flower garden than watching it snow.
ReplyDeleteIs this usual thing for you - sunflowers in February? How lovely! We are having snow fall non stop for 3 days now...
ReplyDeleteSpring has sprung? No, it's more like summer - I'm green with envy. We don't have snow here and it's been dry and sunny, but bitterly cold. Bye for now, Lesley
ReplyDeleteit's about 20* here - so those look lovely! I'm sure you are enjoying them in your home right?
ReplyDeletevery nice to meet you!
I want to grow those sunflowers this year, but we haven't even bought the seeds yet! This is one of the reasons us snow bunnies would like to live in southern CA. Your blog and photos are a treat and a much welcomed ray of sunshine and warmth! Very inviting! Tootles!
